RingGo is the consumer brand under which Cobalt provides what is set to be the UK's dominant cashless parking system.
RingGo isn't based on technology from another country. Unashamedly developed from the ground up, for the street environment of the UK, RingGo has been designed with the needs of the motorist first and foremost. Powerful branding, clear messages, simple easy-to-read signage and an easy to use yet feature-rich web interface makes RingGo unique.
A succession of big wins have been announced. The decision by APCOA to deploy RingGo across all of the major stations across the First Great Western Network (essentially establishing a foothold in every major town from London to Penzance) gave a fine start in April 2006. This was followed by the first local authority implementation of RingGo in Bournemouth during that summer. This implementation usefully gave the service a considerable amount of exposure to users visiting the coastal resort from across the country.
The first major award of a contract by a London Borough was secured in November 2006 when Hounslow chose to deploy RingGo as an alternative means of payment across all its surface car parks and street bays. Hounslow is known for its leadership in the field of customer service and this initiative today represents the largest roll-out of phone parking undertaken anywhere in London. Pleasingly, since that time Cobalt has secured a range of further significant contracts which will help extend the reach of RingGo still further. Notable amoungst them are work for the London Boroughs of Southwark and Lewisham. Announcements of further major wins will be made during the summer.
RingGo. It's the future of parking.
