Motorists in Dundee will no longer need to make sure they have the right cash to pay for a parking ticket as long as they have their mobile phone.  Dundee City Council, in partnership with RingGo, is launching an 18-month pilot scheme this month for on street and metered car parks in the city.
The City of Edinburgh Council has been shortlisted for one of Scotland's top Transport Awards for its implementation of RingGo cashless parking.  The service is recognised within the Technology and Innovation category of the 2011 Scottish Transport Awards.
From 1 April 2011, drivers parking at Red Funnel's Isle of Wight terminal in Southampton can use the UK's leading pay by phone service, RingGo, to pay for their parking.  Motorists call 0203 046 0010, or go on line to purchase either one-off parking using a credit or debit card, or a longer term parking permit.
UK mobile payments provider, RingGo, is honoured tonight to have been chosen for a third time to be a recipient of a prestigious and nationally acclaimed British Parking Award in the face of stiff competition.  The innovative and fast growing company won the Marketing category with its entry, "Against the odds - from underdog to brand winner", a submission which described the three year communications programme by which, from 2007 to 2010 RingGo moved from occupying second place in the UK mobile parking market, to clear number one.
