The way Cobalt operates and the innovation and design behind our solutions, has led to the Company being recognised by numerous National and Local Awards.  These are listed below:

Intertraffic Innovation Award 2016 – Winner of the Parking Category

Intertraffic is the world’s largest trade exhibition for infrastructure, traffic management, smart mobility, safety and parking.  Cobalt’s “Space Availability” solution competed against 90 other worldwide services and solutions to come out top in the Parking Category.  The judges said they were particularly “impressed by the predictive algorithm, which tells users what likely availability is upon arrival, even for spaces that do not have sensors”.

British Parking Awards 2014 – Commended

RingGo Corporate was commended by the judges in the hard fought Parking Technology category.  The submission focussed on the thought and consideration behind the design and development of this unique solution and the panel of experts recognised this, awarding the service runners up status.

National Transport Awards 2012 – Shortlisted

Cobalt and the City of Edinburgh Council have been shortlisted in the UK’s prestigious National Transport Awards.  Competing against multimillion pound marketing campaigns from across the transport industry, the joint submission “Changing the Way a Million Motorists Pay” has been shortlisted within the ‘Travel Information and Marketing’ category.

British Parking Awards 2012 – Winner

Cobalt’s iPhone and Android apps for cashless parking won the first ever British Parking Digital Parking Award.  The judges commended the company for their on-going improvements to the apps and promotional programmes which led to a 265% increase in usage.

B2B Marketing Awards 2011 – Runner up

The National B2B marketing awards recognised Cobalt along with digital brand and consultancy agency, Birddog, for their social media marketing campaign, which came runners up in the Social Media category.

Mayor’s Award for Business – 2009/10

In May 2010, Cobalt Telephone Technologies was honoured to be named the Mayor of Basingstoke’s Business of the Year, and follow in the footsteps of previous winners such as Motorola, Sunlife Financial of Canada and Eli Lilly.

The award is presented annually by the outgoing Mayor and is made to a business from the borough who he/she feels has made a significant contribution to life in Basingstoke.

British Parking Awards 2011 – Winner

RingGo marketing has been recognised twice by the British Parking Awards in three years.  Cobalt’s submission “Against the odds – from underdog to brand winner”, described the three year marketing communications programme through which RingGo moved from second in the UK mobile parking market, to clear number one.

British Parking Awards 2010 – Winner

Cobalt’s world leading Carbon-Metered Parking solution, won the British Parking Environment award in March 2010, in a joint submission between Cobalt and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

British Parking Awards 2009 – Highly Commended

In 2009, Cobalt’s Customer Care was highly commended by the British Parking Awards as part of the “Back Office Team of the Year” award.

British Parking Awards 2008 – Winner

The unique, relevant and thoughtful marketing supporting the development and launch of RingGo phone parking was recognised by the British Parking Awards in 2008.  The industry experts judging this category commended Cobalt for its marketing, with particular praise for the way customer and potential customer interests been identified and reflected.

British Parking Awards 2007 – Highly Commended

Cobalt was Highly Commended in 2007 within the Innovation category for its roll out of RingGo cashless parking across the First Great Western Railway network.  Manny Rasores, Chairman of the judging panel, commented “Phone parking implementations of this kind are without doubt going to revolutionise our industry”.
