Cobalt Telephone Technologies, the providers of cashless parking service RingGo, has achieved Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) accreditation at Level 1 - the UK credit card industry's highest level.
The PCI DSS certification was developed by Visa and MasterCard to encourage companies to adopt consistent measures that enhance credit card data security. To attain level 1 within the UK, Cobalt Telephone Technologies has had a thorough audit of its systems, processes, policies and procedures and demonstrated that these meet the highest standard endorsed by Visa and MasterCard.
To obtain PCI DSS accreditation, Cobalt Telephone Technologies worked closely with a Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council-approved, security assessor. This collaboration means that customers of Cobalt (and RingGo) know that their credit card details, transactional data and other vital customer information are held and managed in accordance with the highest level of security standards laid out by the major credit card schemes.
Joanna Miller, Technical Director for Cobalt, says "Cobalt has always focused heavily on security aspects within its operations. Attaining UK PCI compliance at this level is great recognition of this focus. This certification enables our customers to see we take the potential for fraud, and security of information extremely seriously and lead the way in the cashless parking industry."
"PCI compliance at Level 1 is a major achievement for any company. Large or small, it takes many months of hard work and everyone at Cobalt is delighted we have achieved it."
