The first working day of 2002 marked a milestone in the commercial relationship between Sanderson Services Ltd and Cobalt. The joint launch of a major automated transaction processing service, created for the London Borough of Wandsworth, is the first fruits of a partnership between Cobalt and Sanderson, that was first discussed in 1998.

The new service, to be more generally marketed by both parties under the name "the LG 2000 Automated Telephony Payment Module" allows public and private sector users of the Sanderson LG 2000 processing system to take telephone payments. This feature provides a significantly more cost effective service to their customers as particularly encouraged by central government's "Best Value" initiative.
