Cobalt Telephone Technologies has been recognised by the prestigious
Fast Growth Business Awards 2011. Cobalt, with its market leading
cashless parking service, RingGo, has been selected as a finalist within
the highly competitive Best Technology category.
Now in their
fifth year, the Fast Growth Business Awards, which are organised by
Growing Business Magazine, showcase the UK's most cutting edge
businesses. The awards seek to recognise companies that demonstrate
quantifiable evidence of growth and success in terms of turnover,
profits, size and market share.
Reviewed by a panel of judges
which includes industry-leading entrepreneurs and business experts from a
wide range of sectors, the awards cover 12 separate categories, with
winners from these competing for the coveted title of Fast Growth
Business of the Year.
With previous winners including Lovefilm
and Multimap, Cobalt Telephone Technologies' Commercial Director, Harry
Clarke, is clearly pleased the company is being considered for similar
honour. "RingGo is the obvious leader in its field, but the parking
industry is a fairly specialised area. Being selected as a finalist
across all industry sectors, in such high profile, national awards as
these, is true recognition of what we have achieved.
"Almost 3
million motorists are now registered with RingGo and thousands use it
daily to pay for their parking. Some commentators suggest that mobile
payments are yet to take off, but RingGo is living proof that people
will happily pay for a service by mobile phone, if it's something that
makes their lives easier. We are delighted the Fast Growth Business
Awards have recognised this."
Ian Wallis, editorial director for
Growing Business comments "This year's shortlisted finalists surpassed
our wildest expectations. The companies that have made the 2011
shortlist for their chosen categories in the Fast Growth Business Awards
ought to be immensely proud. Despite what you may have read about the
state of the economy it was emphatically not reflected in the quality of
this year's entrants, with a higher level of competition for a
finalist's spot than we have seen since the awards launched five years
ago. The rate of growth experienced, and the level of innovation and
ingenuity demonstrated, show that British business has a huge amount to
shout about.
"We fully expect this group of finalists - not just
the eventual winners - to follow in the footsteps of their highly
successful predecessors such as Lovefilm, Maximuscle and Multimap.
While those companies were subsequently acquired by global giants
Amazon, GlaxoSmithKline and Microsoft respectively in deals worth
hundreds of millions of pounds, we see no reason why we won't be talking
about a major international brand emerging from these awards in
future."
The winners of the Fast Growth Business Awards will be
announced at a black tie ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel,
Grosvenor Square, on 4th October 2011. To find out more about the awards
